Our extra-curricular highlights
NAIDOC Showcase Day
Nyngan High School commemorates NAIDOC Week with a series of engaging and meaningful activities that celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, histories, and achievements. Students participate in cultural workshops, art projects, and dance sessions support by our local Indiginous community members. The school organises traditional dance performances and shares Indigenous music, fostering a deeper understanding and respect for First Nations peoples among the student body. The event also includes discussions on the significance of NAIDOC themes, encouraging students to reflect on the importance of reconciliation and cultural awareness. Overall, the celebrations at Nyngan High School successfully promotes inclusivity and cultural pride within the school community.
Student Voice
Student Voice at Nyngan High School plays a vital role in fostering student leadership and giving students a voice in school decision-making. Our Student Voice is made up of elected representatives from each year group & Jnr AECG who are passionate about making a positive difference in our school community.
Our Student Voice aims to represent the interests and ideas of all students, promote school spirit, and organise events that enhance the student experience. We work closely with teachers, staff, and the wider school community to ensure student perspectives are heard and valued.
95% Attendance Excursion
"At Nyngan High School we believe that regular attendance is fundamental to academic success and personal growth. Our 95% Attendance Reward recognises and celebrates students who demonstrate exceptional commitment by attending school at least 95% of the time throughout the term or year. This achievement highlights their dedication, responsibility, and respect for their education.
Consistent attendance helps students stay engaged with their learning, build strong relationships with teachers and peers, and develop essential skills such as time management and perseverance. By maintaining a high attendance rate, students maximise their opportunities to participate in classroom activities, access support when needed, and keep up with the curriculum.
Through this award, we aim to encourage all students to prioritise their attendance and understand the positive impact it has on their overall success and future pathways. We are proud to acknowledge those who make attendance a priority and set a strong example for their peers."
